ABOUT mE

I’m a sex and relationship therapist and sexuality educator located in the Los Angeles area.  I work with individuals and couples, guiding them as they learn to value their own pleasure and overcome obstacles to satisfying sexual self expression resulting in exhilarating sex lives, embodied attachment and fulfilling relationships with themselves and others.  I am passionate about working with people beyond judgment from a place of acceptance and connection to create remarkable and lasting transformation.

WHAT I’ve Done

For more than seventeen years I have worked, educated and counseled in sexuality and sex and relationship education.  I am a sexual lifestyle expert and highly experienced in issues of gender, kink, sexual embodiment, sexual orientation and sexual empowerment through self-acceptance.  In 2011, I graduated with my Masters in Social Work and became a certified yoga instructor and somatic breathworker which added a physical and breath-focused level to the work that I do.  I am trained in the Somatica Method™ and speak both locally and internationally about sexuality, gender, sexual expression and sexual performativity. I have shared my knowledge in the capacity of professor and lecturer; teaching Human Sexuality and Integrative Sexuality for Counselors and Social Workers  in the Masters program at CIIS as well as guest lecturing at U.C. Berkeley, University of Southern California and Southwestern University. I frequently contribute to online and print publications writing about all things having to do with sexuality and modern relationships. Interested in knowing more about my background and experience? WHAT I DO

I have an extensive background in many different therapy modalities, including Emotion-Focused Therapy, Cognative-Behavioral Therapy and the Hokomi Method and I integrate those in my current practice of Somatic Sex Therapy, a physically embodied and interactive style of therapy that brings awareness to and explores the experience of your body as well as your thoughts and feelings.  Somatic Sex Therapy allows for a therapeutic experience of secure attachment. Secure attachment is the experience of being in connection with someone who is sensitive and responsive, a person that provides a secure base to explore from, allowing for the development of a healthy relationship and an understanding of how that feels for you. For adults, a holistic experience of attachment may include intimacy and erotic connection. After we have established secure attachment, I help you recognize and work through obstacles to being fully in the relationships you have or desire to have.

I’ve been working with Elizabeth for many years now and she has a great way of helping me sift through my metal chatter to get down to my desires, true sense of self and what’s really important to me. My relationship to my body has changed so much and that is the most valuable part to me.”

I always leave my sessions feeling more clear and grounded and with practices to help me stay in awareness and get back into my body. Elizabeth taught me how to recognize and stay present to the strengths I have as a person on my own and with the people in my life.”

Elizabeth worked with us during a challenging time in our relationship when we weren’t sure of how to move forward.  She helped us understand one another better, believe in each other and know that we could always focus on our connection to each other no matter what kind of changes we would go through.”

I had never done somatic therapy before but I don’t think I would ever want to work not somatically again. It’s this entire part of my lived experience that I had learned to exclude and ignore and opening up to and getting back in touch with what I sense and feel has been life-changing for me.”
